In his lecture and on basis of various archive material, that has not been published so far, Ian Pace focusses on the developement of a first infrastructure in the field of contemporary music after World War II (such as through festivals, summer academies or radio programmes) as well as on the roles of a few decision makers and the establishment of certain composers, who in sequence also shaped the developement of certain aesthetics and still make an impact on the music scene nowadays.
