Besides its Academy and Composition Competition impuls is also promoting concerts and biennial festivals of contemporary music and organising other activities like workshops, music communication programs ... and special projects like the impuls . MinuteConcerts.

Through these versatile programs impuls offers different approaches to - and thus contributes to a better understanding of both classical modern and contemporary music not only for professionals, but also for broader audiences.

 

 

On the occasion of the 90th birthday of Friederike Mayröcker, impuls promotes a special event with readings, lectures and concerts in cooperation with the Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten in Graz from March 13th to 15th, 2014.

 

 

On Saturday, April 5th, 2014 impuls continues with its successful format, the

impuls . MinuteConcerts. Walk through Galleries with Music (introduced within the impuls Festival 2009 for the first time in Graz). The presentations are preceded by several impuls workshops for young musicians both in Vienna and Graz.

 

 

impuls is also presenting an exhibition by Veronika Mayer and Christine Schörkhuber, which will have its opening during the impuls MinuteConcerts on April 5th, 2014. "EINHÖRUNGEN. Akusmaten, Klanginterieur und andere Sonoritäten" can also be visited on the following days until April 9th.

 

 

On November 8th Text im Klang, a new project of impuls (developed together with the literature department of Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten) will find its premiere in Graz. Starting with an impuls statement by Clemens Gadenstätter and statement and discussions of the artists involved in the afternoon, Ensemble Schallfeld (conductor: Leonhard Garms / Sound: Peter Venus) will then première 4 new impuls commissions by Tamara Friebel, Martin Hiendl, Eun-Ji Lee and Sehyung Kim, which will be accompanied by readings of the authors Gerhild Steinbuch, Natascha Gangl, Stefan Schmitzer and Alexander Micheuz.

 

 

On December 4th, the Klangforum Wien will premiere the new composition "her" of the young composer Zesses Seglias, who was participant of the impuls Academy 2013, in the context of urbo kune at the Babenbergerhalle in Klosterneuburg. "her" is a commission of the Ernst Krenek Institute in cooperation with impuls and Klangforum Wien.
