Dimitrios Polisoidis, viola

Dimitrios Polisoidis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1961. Violin studies with Dany Dossiou in Greece and Christos Poyzoides in Graz, viola studies with Herbert Blendinger. From 1989 to 1993 he was spokesperson for the violas in the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1994 he became a member of Klangforum Wien as well as their string quartet (Tetras Streichquartett). Since 1993 he has been playing with the trio Dahinden Kleeb Polisoidis. As musician Dimitrios Polisoidis´ main focus lies on contemporary music and he also works with experimental improvisation groups (amongst others "Piknik mit Weisman" and "Krok Trio").
