Composition-Classes

For students of composition as well as young professionals impuls holds various offers during its Academy. Besides being a vivid meeting-point for interaction with both young musicians, other young composers and professionals impuls offers a couple of individual lessions to each participant with renowned composers such as Beat Furrer, Brice Pauset and Rebecca Saunders or Georg Friedrich Haas. The program “ensemble meets composer” enforces the contact and the interchange of composers and interpreters, the program “open composers-pool” deals with topics selected by the participants themselves, experienced instrumentalists offer instrumental-lectures on the possibilities and qualities of their instruments … and daily open lectures and discussions add up to the various programs. In addition to that Klangforum Wien and Enno Poppe will discuss and work on preselected compositions of the participants within the program “reading-sessions” and other preselected compositions of the participants will be worked on and performed in public within Gerhard Eckel´s live electronic workshop. Eva Furrer offers a special program with her flute class, inviting all composers to hand in new compositions for flutes to be worked on also within a special workshop for composers and instrumentalists. Last but not least all participants are invited to meet up with the selected composers of the impuls-Composition-Competition for discussion and exchange after the première of their pieces within impuls and of course also attend the various programs of the impuls-Festival.
