Does contemporary music belong as a matter of course on concert programs? Ernst Kreneks answer was his concert series Austrian Studio (1934): Krenek: The idea was to present concerts with contemporary music in such a way that it would become clear that modern music was an integral part of Austrian culture.

But what are the reasons today for organizers to ignore contemporary works in their programming, to take them into account, or even to devote entire festivals to them? A group of renowned artistic directors will exchange views about this intriguing question in a round-table discussion.
