With Talk and Round Table at the Zentrum fr Genderforschung and at the IEM at the KUG + in sound as guest at the open music series in Graz: Annie Gosfield, "a one woman Hadron collider, the queen of the detuned industrial noise warp musical universe that she inhabits"(BBC Radio, Max Reinhardt) und "major figure of the downtown scene? (The New Yorker)!

The New York City based composer, performer and theorist writes for many ensembles and soloists and is also internationally active performing on the piano and with sampler, with her own group as well as a soloist. Her work often explores and shows the beauty of non musical sounds and is inspired by various sources such as sounds of engines, broken pianos, deformed boards or detuned radios. Traditional notation, improvisation, extended techniques serve her to create a very specific universe of sounds, which does not distinguish between music and noise, but integrates consciously the specific qualities of the performers. 2012 she was stipendiate of the American Academy in Berlin, 2008 she received the very demanded Grants to Artists of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. Her essays about composition are published in the New York Times and can also be read in the book Arcana II. Gosfield was a teacher at renowned institutions such as Princeton University, Mills College and California Institute of the Arts.
